Staff Appreciation Day 2019: 5 Ways to Celebrate in the Workplace

During their careers, most workers will undoubtedly invest more time at the workplace than they will doing any other task, except maybe sleeping.

This Friday, March 1st, 2019 is the now world-famous Staff Appreciation Day. A great time to show how much you value all the efforts, as well as commitments made by your team and colleagues. Take your group to lunch or have lunch brought in. If lunch is a standard method of celebrating in your office, you can mix it up by holding a breakfast celebration instead. Or, think of an innovative afternoon treat activity, such as a build-it-yourself cocktail bar with music, or other fun activities.

Give a present.

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can give out a Deliveroo or Starbucks gift card to each staff member and also share something you appreciate about each person when you present the gift to them. Does your team like to remain energetic? If ‘yes’, then how about health and fitness trackers? You could also hire an exercise trainer to instruct everyone as to exactly how they should be used, and create an enjoyable physical fitness task in the workplace to kick off making use of their trackers.

After you have shown your appreciation and support to staff members this Friday, don’t fail to continue with your efforts throughout the rest of 2019. When an employee exceeds expectations or forgoes the norm on a job, tell him or her just how much you appreciate their initiatives. When the team achieves a hard won goal or hits their targets, celebrate the accomplishment. Give individual awards for outstanding work – and we are not talking like Dunder Mifflin or Wernham Hogg.
